You can’t get too much winter in winter. Robert Frost
It’s a beautiful snow day here in PA! My first day of the spring semester has been set back because of this magnificent weather. It seems that I may be the only person in my household that actually enjoys the snow, especially when playing in it with my energetic new puppy.
The newest edition to the family is Chance and trust me he might love the snow more then I do! In the colder months it seems that everyone’s festive modes seem to fade away with the harsh winds and shoveling… Which I can completely relate too, it seems that being stuck inside and battling frozen toes can bring out the worst in people, so I take time to do some things that I enjoy when the weathers got me down. Like cooking! There’s nothing like cooking a nice hot meal for your family on a gorgeous snowy winter day!
Homemade spaghetti sauce is usually my go too on cold days because it’s hearty and Italian… which is enough for me. I could seriously live on Italian food, especially pizza… I need to stop.
I do feel sorry for my cat Cory around times when there’s eight feet of snow on the ground… Being an outdoor cat cooped up inside isn’t ideal, but I can’t bring myself to let home out when the snow is taller then he is! I wouldn’t even be able to see his little paw prints. Sad kitty 😦
Thank heaven for RAINBOOTS! I’m not 100% if I should be wearing them in the snow… but who cares? They keep you warm and cozy when you’re running around admiring winters great gifts.
But when there’s gravy cooking and your fingers feel like they are about to fall off it’s about time to call it a day and cozy up with some music and a good magazine.
So here’s my mellow snow day playlist to listen too whilst reading magazines and drinking hot chocolate.
1. All of Me – John Legend
2. Wake Me Up – Ed Sheeran
3. The Boy Is Gone – Jason Mraz
4. The Riff – Dave Matthews Band
5. O Children – Nick Cave & The Bad Seeds
6. Little You & I – Jason Mraz
7. Breezeblocks – alt-J
8. 20 Years – The Civil Wars
9. Come Away to The Water – Maroon 5
10. Sunrise – Norah Jones
Happy Snow Day!
Till Next Time,
